Apple is Spending $1 Billion on Original Content


Apple wants to immediately become a player in the market for original shows according to the Wall Street Journal and that is a very good sign for consumers.

The more players in the market competing for the attention span of consumers means that Apple will be have to consider quality over quantity when it comes to creating original content such as Planet of the Apps and Carpool Karaoke.

However, to put things into perspective, Netflix in the last year spent $6 billion dollars on procuring and producing original content which means that Apple is only spending 17% of Netflix’s annual budget.
