To wrap up the festival season, the Philippine Festival Council of Alberta, in partnership with the Philippine Consulate General in Calgary, are bringing to you, Fiesta Filipino YYC this Friday, Sept 1st until Sunday, Sept 3rd at Olympic Plaza.

Since 2015, Fiesta Filipino YYC has become an icon of the Filipino community here in Calgary. For it’s third year, this three-day festival will be featuring exhibits, songs, paintings, dances and sports that represent the richness of the country’s culture.

This year, the special guest for the festival will be Filipino-American singer, actor and model, Sam Milby.

During the festival, there will be traditional Filipino food, musical performances, a singing competition, free Zumba classes, and cultural dances including a special show by the Karilagan Dance Society.

In addition, on Saturday at 8 pm, there will be a showing of Philippine tapestry by Renee Salud and the Mindanao Weavers, a Neo-Ethnic Philippine designer whose creations have been worn by Miss Universe participants.
