Get your solar viewers armed and ready!  We will be able to witness a celestial event that will start shortly after 10:20am.  The time of maximum eclipse in Calgary will be approximately 11:30am when about 80% of the sun will be covered!

Some parts of the United States will experience a total eclipse, the event here locally will still be remarkable –  but dangerous without the proper eye protection.

Be aware that it is unsafe to look directly at the sun with the naked eye. It is also unsade to look through regular sunglasses, cameras, some telescopes and binoculars or any other devices without the proper filters in place. Suitable filers require ISO 12312-2 Certification. Number 14 welding glass is also considered to be safe.
