Nothing but good vibes are expected to be found during Calgary’s 14th Annual International Reggae Festival this Friday, August 18th from 4pm to 11 pm and Saturday, August 19th from noon to 11 pm at the Shaw Millennium Park.
On Friday, August 18th, Calgarian’s will have the opportunity hear from artists all across the country including, Aktivate, Kirk Diamond, Ms. Paige, Steele, and Pressure Busspipe.
On Saturday, August 19th, performances include both national and international artists such as Lyndon John X and Natural Fyah, Mad Riddim with Jason Wilson from Vancouver, Oral Fuentes from Saskatoon, and our very own PowerHouze Band from Calgary. All the way from Jamaica, Etana and Louie Culture will also be performing, alongside Antidoping, from Mexico.
Apart from the music, everyone is also invited to enjoy the brews in the village beer garden, taste the flavours of multiple island spices and take a look at the variety of souvenirs available.
The tickets range from $25 to $45 and grant access to the entire weekend.
ReggaeFest has become the premier summer Reggae festival in all of Canada. According to it’s website, the festival wants to promote the historical significance and influence of Reggae in other music genres, and raise cultural awareness and the advancement of Reggae Music in Canada.
