One thing that I always wanted to do as I was growing up was get my ears pierced. Not just your basic, single hole in each ear, dangling earrings kind of pierced. I wanted everything! There are just so many different options for you to pick from, HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO DECIDE?!
Luckily for me however, there are places like Claire’s that have fake earrings for me to try out all the different possibilities, without the everlasting impact! Let’s review the three that I have tested and tried myself:
False Ear Plugs
These are honestly AMAZING!! I don’t think that I will ever have the guts to actually stretch my ears out but I think they look so cool! It was honestly a miracle when I found out that Claire’s actually had false ear plugs that you could wear through your regular piercings! The best part is that they actually look legit too. There have been numerous occasions when people have stopped me to ask if they are real and I love it. They have a multitude of shapes and sizes for you to decide between, and since they get screwed together, the likelihood of you loosing a pair is also very slim. The only thing to be wary of when selecting which ones you want to buy, is making sure they don’t stick out too much from your ear, otherwise, it’ll be obvious that they aren’t real.
Faux Tragus Earrings
These are probably my least favorite out of all the faux earrings that I have tried. Although the ones that they have look neat, your options are limited if you are purchasing in-store. The ones that I tried were beautiful to look at, however, the struggle with these ones is actually getting them to stay on your tragus. They are designed with a generic shape that doesn’t fit all ear types. I know I had a lot of difficulty with first getting mine on and then getting it to stay in place. There was also the added stress of making sure I didn’t accidentally knock it down while fixing my hair or moving my head too much! Overall, they look cool, but are a hassle to keep on.
Faux Cartilage Earrings
Finally, the fake cartilage earrings. My cartilage is perhaps the one location that I definitely want to get pierced moving forward, and I can definitely say that wearing the fake ones and seeing what they looked like on me, helped with that decision. They obviously aren’t as secure as the false ear plugs, but they stay on throughout the day without falling off. Once again, while I was experimenting with these ones, there were several times when my friends thought they were real and that made me happy to hear, especially when you succumb to the ‘deals’ that Claire’s offers and buy way more than you could ever need.
If I was to rate my experiences with Claire’s faux earrings, I would give them:
5/5 for Variety of Faux Earrings Available 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
3/5 for Cost of Earrings 🔥🔥🔥
4/5 for Ability to Actually Wear Faux Earrings Successfully 🔥🔥🔥🔥
4/5 for How Realistic the Earrings Look 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Overall, I think it is fantastic of Claire’s to offer such a variety of faux earrings for people to purchase and try out. My only warning would be to really consider your own ear shape and see if the ones that are available will match up. The last thing you want to have happen is you ending up spending a lot of money on faux earrings that don’t stay on your ears!
Whether or not you ever end up getting the real thing, having the fake ones for a while definitely helps with the curiosity, without necessitating the commitment of adding a new couple of holes to your body! I definitely recommend checking out Claire’s and their selections for anyone who wants to try out something fabulous and new, and once you do, let me know what it was and how you liked it!
